Hyderabad: Beggar mistaken for thief, rescued by cops

In another incident reported in the city, Rajendranagar police rescued a victim from Attapur while patrolling.

Hyderabad: The viral fake news propagated on social media about thieves looting property and kidnapping people has continued to create an atmosphere of panic and fright among the public. 

In another incident reported in the city, Rajendranagar police rescued a victim from Attapur while patrolling. Jalendra Kumar, 24, migrated from Bihar a year ago was stopped by locals near pillar number 43 on Thursday night, said G. Suresh, inspector of Rajendra Nagar police station. 

"On Thursday night, while our team was patrolling the city for ensuring closure of late night establishments, officials noticed a congregation of people. Our team approached them and found that they were harassing a beggar thinking he was a thief loitering in the area," the official said. The crowd dispersed after police intervention.
