Class 10th results: Scam-hit school gets topper
KRISHNAGIRI: A student of Vijay Vidhyalaya matriculation higher secondary school, which was caught in an exam scam two years ago, has secured state second rank in the SSLC (10th standard State Board) examination for which the results were released on Wednesday.
M.Poonguzhali, 15, has scored 498 marks out of 500 to become the state second topper in the SSLC examination. She has scored centum in Maths, science and social science, besides 99 marks in English and Tamil subjects. She wishes to study MBBS after her ‘Plus-2’ from the same school in which Poonguzhali has completed class 10 as state second topper. The girl when asked about her mother’s role in her achievement said, “My mother Kalavani works as the Math’s teacher in the Panchayat union middle school in Hanumanthapuram village, near Hosur of Krishnagiri. She motivated, but never helped me in studies. It was my school teachers who worked hard for me to achieve in this examination.” Vijay Vidhyalaya matriculation higher secondary school in which Poonguzhali studied was in the news for the wrong reason. In 2015, four teachers of the school were arrested and sent to jail for sharing the Plus-2’ question paper in WhatsApp when the examination was underway.
They were appointed as invigilators for the Plus-2 examination center at Parimalam matriculation higher secondary school, another private school here, landed in jail after the teachers were caught red handed by the officials while they shared the question paper in WhatsApp.
