Hyderabad: A WhatsApp group was brought under the police scanner after an NGO for children approached the Kukatpally police alleging that members of the group were sharing their 'sexual encounters' with minors.
According to Police, the complaint was filed by Balala Hakkula Sangam's founder, Achyutha Rao, stating that participants of the WhatsApp group were discussing 'how they enjoyed with a 14-year-old-boy' and sharing other such incidents of sexual assault against minors.
The NGO submitted the proof in the form of screenshots of the conversations involving the men discussing and sharing their stories of sexual assault on minor boys.
“We have received a complaint against the WhatsApp group, ‘Bringing together’, and its admin, Kushal, alleging that they were discussing oral sex with minors. We are investigating the case and will consult an expert opinion on this before proceeding,” said police inspector of Kukatpally V. Prasanna Kumar, adding that presently they are retrieving data and are also teaming up with the IT department for the investigation. Cases have been booked under relevant sections of the IPC and PoCSO Act.
