Miryalguda inspector faces inquiry over collecting hafta'
Hyderabad: An inquiry is being conducted against Miryalguda Two Town Inspector Sai Eshwar Goud, after a constable working in his police station levied allegations of corruption against him.
A constable Raj Kumar, working at the Miryalguda Two Town police station, shot a video and narrated the occurrance of corrupt activities at the police station. In the video he posted on social media, the constable blamed a home guard working at the police station for leading in the corrupt practices. He also accused the home guard of collecting mamool from persons at the behest of the Inspector which is purely illegal. He went on further to show pages from a book wherein the duties were allotted to the policemen. The home guard 'HG 301' was posted in the Investigation and Detection (ID) party for the mere purpose of collecting mamool, the constable alleged.
It is learnt that Raj Kumar had met the Superintendent of Police, Nalgonda and brought to his notice the harassment by the Inspector as he failed to give him monthly mamool to him. He said that though he was coming for duty on a regular basis, the Inspector was reportedly not giving him duties and marking him absent in the attendance register.
When the Superintendent of Police, Nalgonda, was contacted, A.V. Ranganath confirmed that an enquiry is being conducted into the allegations made against the Inspector of Miryalguda Two Town by the constable Raj Kumar. "We are verifying the allegations made by the constable and based on the findings action will be initiated," he said.
The SP added that in last few weeks about 100 policemen of various ranks including constables, home guards, head constables and Assistant Sub Inspector's working in law and order and traffic wings in the district were transferred. “More complains are pouring in which are being verified,” he said.
