Yaduveer to tie knot on June 27

Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar will marry his fiance Trishika Kumari of the royal family of Rajkot.

Mysuru: The last big royal wedding in Mysuru was in 1976 when the former maharaja married the present Queen mother Pramoda Devi. In two months time, the 24 year old scion of the Mysuru royal family, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, will marry his fiance, Trishika Kumari of the royal family of Rajkot, on June 27 this year with all the pomp and the ceremony associated with this royal outpost.

A formal “lagna pathrika” ceremony was held at the Chamundi Thotti of the Mysuru Palace here Monday morning to finalise the date, where both Yaduveer Wadiyar and his fiance were present at the ceremony, a private affair. The royal wedding will take place at the palace kalyanamantapa. The two were engaged after Yaduveer succeeded the late Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar. Grandson of the late scion’s eldest sister, Gayathri Devi , he was officially adopted by present queen Pramoda Devi last year.
