Buildings in full violation of plans not to be regularised, says Justice Bhosale

Hyderabad: Making it clear that buildings which are constructed in complete violation of the sanctioned plan will not be regularised, the Hyderabad High Court on Monday said that the status quo granted earlier shall continue till further orders.

A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale and Justice P. Naveen Rao was dealing with a petition by Forum for Better Hyderabad challenging the scheme introduced by the Telangana government to regularise unauthorised constructions and buildings in the state.

While hearing the case, Justice Bhosale said it would be proper if construction with 20 per cent violation is regularised but not those structures’ which were built with 100 per cent violations.

The bench asked the authorities to segregate the applications received so far based on percentage of violations and place the list before the Court.
When this case came up for hearing, Mr K. Ramakrishna Reddy, Advocate General, submitted that the government has already brought out an Act to implement the Scheme.

In view of the Act being in force, nothing remains in the petition to adjudicate. While asking the AG to place the list after segregation of violations, the bench posted the matter for hearing after the summer vacation. TS told to up raids on fruit markets

The Hyderabad High Court on Monday told the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana that it is the right time to take up measures as well as awareness campaign to prevent use of chemicals in ripening of fruits in view of the fast approaching mango season.

A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale and Justice P. Naveen Rao was dealing with a case taken up on the basis of news reports on usage of Calcium Carbide and other hazardous chemicals in ripening fruits in both states.

The bench asked both states to intensify raids and checks on fruit markets and fruit sellers and not to confine the action plans to paper. The bench adjourned the case to after the summer vacation.

Take steps to curb mass copying: HC

The Hyderabad High Court on Monday told a petitioner to place concrete suggestion and measures before it to prevent mass copying in public examinations so that it can direct both the state governments of AP and Telangana to implement the same from the next academic year.

A division Bench was dealing with a PIL by Dr Srinivas Guntupalli of Eluru city in AP seeking to declare the action of both governments in not taking effective steps to prevent mass copying in examinations as illegal.

The petitioner informed the court that there were 89 news reports with regard to mass copying in both states in the recent SSC and Intermediate public examinations despite of installation of CCTV cameras. While adjourning the case to July 11, the Bench asked the petitioner to do some exercise and place the required measures before it
