Hyderabad: Students residing in Block 2 of the women’s hostel at Osmania University had an early Sunday shock when a lizard was found in the chutney during breakfast. An official from the university however said, the find was “staged”.
A student, who is residing in the hostel said: “Care is not being taken by mess staff. The lizard was partially burnt when we found it in the chutney, which proves that it did not fall into it during storage after the chutney was prepared.” But, director of the women’s hostels, Dr K Shailaja said the incident might have been staged by students.
“If the lizard was indeed in the chutney, many students would have fallen sick, which did not happen. I’m not sure if the lizard was in food due to negligence or if it was placed in the dish by the students, deliberately.”
