Dr G to Congressmen: Don't air your views in public

He asked them to exercise restraint and refrain from making any public comments against the leader or ministers.

BENGALURU: Taking serious note of Congress veterans B.K. Hariprasad and B. Janardhan Poojary criticising Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, KPCC president Dr G. Parameshwar on Monday asked them to exercise restraint and refrain from making any public comments against the leader or ministers in a move seen as one short of issuing a gag to all everyone in the ruling party.

He told the media here: “Whatever differences we might have, the party has provided a platform to debate and deliberate on any issue. I personally do not approve of harsh views expressed by both party veterans against Mr Siddaramaiah or social welfare minister H. Anjaneya against Mr Poojary." According to him, these veterans must use party forum to express their views instead of using public forums to criticize their own party leaders albeit their juniors. “Certainly, these veterans command a lot of respect and following of their own in the party and this will bring lot of disrepute to the party’s image. Therefore, I direct them not to use public platform to criticize the state government,” Dr. Parameshwar declared.

In response to a question, Dr Parameshwar snapped back at media persons, stating that formation of the Anti-Corruption Bureau was a justifiable act on the part of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, instead of criticising the need to spend energy to popularise it. “What is the illegality about the Anti-Corruption Bureau?,” he shot back.
