3-year-old back from Saudi Arabia is Telangana's 41st corona+ case

Another positive detected Wednesday was case of secondary transmission

Hyderabad: A three-year-old child has become Telangana’s 41st Covid-19 patient, with the government announcing that the boy had travelled from Saudi Arabia to Hyderabad recently.

The health department did not provide any further information on the family of the child.

On Wednesday, there were two cases -- including that child-- the health department said in its daily Covid-19 bulletin.

The other case is that of a 43-year-old woman from Hyderabad, designated as patient no. 40, who is a contact of a patient who had tested positive earlier. This woman has no history of foreign travel, the department said, confirming that the coronavirus is now spreading in Telangana from primary patients to secondary. It is learnt that this new patient is the second in the family who has contracted the disease from the primary patient who returned from abroad recently.

While 50 persons were admitted to hospitals with signs of coronavirus infection on Wednesday, a total of 813 have been admitted so far as possible suspects, including those who have tested positive for the disease so far, the department said.
