Hyderabad: No major project on civic body list
Hyderabad: The GHMC will spend Rs 3,026.73 crore to build infrastructure in the city in the 2017-18 financial year. No major project have been proposed for the year.The GHMC had proposed a budget of Rs 5,643 crore which was approved by the standing committee headed by Mayor B. Ram Mohan. This shows a minor increase of Rs 43 crore over 2016-17. Revenue expenditure has been pegged at Rs 2,616,27 crore for the upkeep and operation of infrastructure and staff salaries.
Sanitation tops the agenda and other main components include street lighting and urban community development. Special thrust would on creating modern public conveniences, construction modern markets and graveyards development.
Rs 50 crore has been allotted for burial grounds and Rs 55.60 crore on community buildings.The standing committee can make changes to the draft Budget and introduce new schemes and projects but it restricted itself to a minor changes.
