Andhra Pradesh to constitute airport authority for the state
Hyderabad: AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that the state government will constitute Airport Authority of Andhra Pradesh to look after the development of new airports in the state. He said that through this authority local airports will be developed and domestic services would be increased in the state. Naidu suggested that Tourism department should be made a partner in the authority for the development of tourism in the state.
He also suggested that flying schools at national and international level should be involved in the proposed flying school at Puttaparthi in Anantapur district. He said that the government is considering setting up of a domestic airport in Srisailam.
CM Naidu said that Amazon, Microsoft and other institutions have expressed interest in taking part in the recently launched Fiber Grid project.
Meanwhile, Naidu said that advisory boards will be constituted soon for Energy University which is proposed to be set up in 150 acres in Penukonda in Anantapur district and Logistic University proposed to come up in 90 acres in Kakinada of East Godavari district.
He said that both these universities would start functioning from 2017-18. CM Naidu said that the state government will sign Memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) in the Maritime India Summit scheduled on 14th April at Mumbai for developing waterways in the state.
