Even a million Owaisis can’t stop CAA: G Kishan Reddy

Minister says Owaisi making allegations with TRS support.

HYDERABAD: Union minister of state for home affairs G. Kishan Reddy has “advised” people against acting in a manner that will disturb the peaceful atmosphere in the country. “The central government has been patient for the past two months,” he stated.

Speaking at the BJP state office on Tuesday, the Union minister declared that those responsible for violent incidents in New Delhi on Monday and Tuesday will be identified and punished severely.

Stating that the law and order situation in Delhi was “completely under control,” he maintained that incidents that took place in the country’s capital were not due to the failure of the Delhi police.

Kishan Reddy accused Lok Sabha member Asaduddin Owaisi of making baseless allegations against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

“He is doing so with the support of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. Even if a million Asaduddins oppose the CAA, it will be implemented,” he asserted.

Taking a dig at the Owaisi-led AIMIM as well as the ruling TRS, the Union minister said, “People of the country will soon teach a lesson to the family-run political parties.” It is shameful that municipal corporations are also passing resolutions against the CAA, he remarked.

Kishan Reddy said the implementation of the CAA would not harm anyone in the country. The same has been repeatedly made clear by the Union government. “Some people are intentionally misguiding the public on the CAA,” he stated, challenging political parties opposing the CAA to present evidence of any Indian, who has been harmed by the new law.

The CAA is not against Pakistan and Bangladesh, he clarified, calling on members of minority communities “not to believe false propaganda by some parties on the CAA.”

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was working hard to boost the country’s reputation and making India a rising economic power.

However, the opposition parties are unable to digest the PM’s success, he stated.

The Union minister regretted that some groups have disrupted peace in Delhi during US President Donald Trump’s tour. He wondered why protesters were carrying the National Flag while at the same time pelting stones at the police.
