Sivaratri Brahmotsavams begin at Srisailam temple
Kurnool: The 11-day Mahasivaratri Brahmostavams started with fervor at Srisailam temple in Kurnool district on Monday, led by the temple executive officer
A. Srirama Chandra Murthy. At dawn, the Brahmotsavams rolled out with Ankurarpana and Dhwajarohana poojas. The temple main priests performed special poojas to Lord Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and his consort Bramarambha Devi and at late evening, Dwajapatam, which is a signal letter to invite all Gods to attend this festival hoisted in the temple premises in a traditional manner. The Brahmostavams will ends on 27th this month.
On each day, there are special poojas and various Vahasevas to God and Goddess, the priests said. The EO said they have made elaborate arrangements to provied all facilities to devotees who will come to Srisailam on occasion of Maha Sivaratri.
Arrangements have been made, especially to provide drinking water, sanitation, Q’ lines and patalaganga.a special care was taken to cater to the needs of the devotees who come on foot from far off places coming through the thick of Nallamalla forest, EO said and added that they are ready to distribute 50 lakh laddus for devotees. He appealed the devotees to cooperated with the temple staff.
