Hyderabad: CRPF jawan who went missing reports to work

He reached the camp on Sunday night and reported for duty.

Hyderabad: A CRPF jawan who was reported missing by his battalion official three days ago reported to his base camp in RR district on Sunday night.

According to the Secunderabad GRP superintendent of police G. Ashok Kumar, Saldeep Kumar missed his train when he got down at a local station after crossing Jhansi.

He reached the camp on Sunday night and reported for duty.

Saldeep, a native of Swankha village in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, was travelling along with 13 members of the 181 battalion, CRPF, at Badgam in Jammu and Kashmir on the Telangana Express.

The complaint from CRPF assistant sub-inspector Arjun Dubey informed railway police that Saldeep was in touch with them over phone till Jhansi as the jawans were travelling in different coaches.

The battalion members realised Saldeep was missing when they reached Secunderabad railway station around 8.30pm on February 20. They then lodged a complaint with the police.

Secunderabad Government Railway Police superintendent of police G. Ashok Kumar said the team of 14 boarded different compartments of the Telangana Express at Delhi on Tuesday.

“They reached Secunderabad at about 8.30 pm on Wednesday night and Saldeep was not to be seen. He claimed he missed the train at a wayside station and reached the camp via another train. His other colleagues and family were informed about the same. His health condition is stable and the case was closed,” the official said.
