Hyderabad: Command centre goes hi-tech to nab culprits
Hyderabad: Rachakonda police inaugurated a new command and control centre with 182 CCTV cameras that covers Uppal junction to Kepal on NH 202 covering a stretch of 23 Km.
The high-quality cameras can capture at 120 frames per second (FPS) and have the ability of capturing the registration number of a vehicle moving at a speed of 110 kmph clearly.
The Infosys Foundation helped install CCTV cameras under the CSR initiative.
The main reason for CCTVs was to improve women’s safety and also prevent crimes on the National Highway 202, which is in close proximity of the developing IT corridor at Pocharam area.
“After analysis, it was decided that 182 high-end cameras must be installed, covering the stretch from Uppal to Kepal. A new Command and Control Centre has been set up at Ghatkesar police station where the feed from all the cameras would be monitored 24/7. The new centre will also accommodate the SHE Team office (Malkajgiri zone). The installation of all cameras would be finished in a month,” said Rachakonda commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat.
