Hyderabad: Classes now, salary later, state tells Maheshwara

The parents and students had complained to the members that classes had not been held for 45 days and the students had lost a lot of time.

Hyderabad: A number of officials of the state healthcare department on Monday visited the Maheshwara Medical College and asked the management to start classes for the two batches of 300 students immediately.

The parents and students had complained to the members that classes had not been held for 45 days and the students had lost a lot of time.

Director of Medical Education Dr Ramesh Reddy, said the main issue was classes not being held and directed the management that they must start from the following day.

“The faculty payment will be cleared before this month end. Their dues of two months have been cleared and others will also be done immediately. The college management has been told to carry out the classes without further delay and there will also be extra classes to make up for the lost time,” Dr Ramesh Reddy said.

Most of the parents were not happy and stated that they would not be convinced till the classes were carried out regularly. The parents alleged that the management’s attitude was not convincing despite the visit of the government officials.

The parents and students are worried as they are in the middle of a semester. A detailed report of the actual state of affairs in the college will be prepared by the health department and sent to the University for consideration.
