Bengaluru: RTO out with air show fire mishap details
Bengaluru: The final picture on the fire accident which occurred at Aero India is out with as many as 277 private vehicles burnt completely. The numbers were released by the RTO on Monday after inspecting the spot with the inspection conducted by the Special Disaster Management Team that was set up by the RTO department.
The vehicle owners have been instructed to collect the inspection report from Yelahanka Police Station to claim the insurance. Further, vehicle owners can approach the respective RTO to get registration certificate in case of total loss, duplicate DL and duplicate registration certificate of the vehicle.
The vehicles were destroyed in a big fire at the parking lot of the venue of the air show in Bengaluru on Saturday afternoon. To help the vehicle owners, the Regional Transport Officers (RTO) decided to open the special desk at the Yelankaha RTO. Senior officials from the fire department said that the cause of the fire could be cigarettes disposed on the grass in the open field.
According to the report released by RTO, 277 vehicles were burnt, of which 251 four-wheelers were completely burnt and 26 were partially burnt. Also, the report said that RTO officials have succeeded in identifying 119 vehicles.
