Realignment of political forces in Telangana: CM K Chandrasekhar Rao
Hyderabad: Describing the defections of leaders from various parties into the TRS as realignment of political forces for development of the state, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday hinted that those leaders who have not yet joined his party were welcome to do so at any time.
“Don’t look at Errabelli’s joining through the prism of politics. Leaders are joining the TRS to support development,” Mr Rao said.
Seeking the support of leaders of all political parties, the CM said leaders and workers from various parties were joining the TRS for the good of Telangana.
He was speaking at a function at Telangana Bhavan to welcome former TD Floor leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao into the TRS fold.
Taking an indirect dig at his AP counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu and past rulers, he said that though they claimed big achievements, the ground reality in TS was different.
“There are lots of problems in the state. No section is really happy in the state. Some might have thrived a bit, but it’s through their individual efforts. To put it in nutshell, undivided AP growth is zero,” Mr Rao said.
Alleging that past rulers neglected irrigation projects in Telangana, he said due to this 2000 tmc feet of Godavari waters had gone waste at a time when there was acute water shortage.
Mr Dayakar Rao accused Mr Naidu of washing his hands off the TS TD.
He said he joined TRS for the development of Palakurthi Assembly constituency and not for political gain.
“I do not have any selfish motive in joining the TRS. Naidu literally left the TS TD in the lurch. With the cooperation of all leaders and workers, I will develop Palakurthi. Development of Telangana is possible only through KCR,” he said.
