Hyderabad: Srimanthudu' team gets fiat from city civil court

Hyderabad: The city civil court on Thursday issued notices to the Mahesh Babu starring blockbuster Srimanthudu team and Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan, for allegedly violating the Copyright Act.

Writer Sharath Chandra had filed a petition alleging that the movie makers and Hrithik Roshan who is planning to remake the movie in Hindi, copied his novel Chachchenta Prema.

The court directed them to reply by March 4. Mr Chandra said that Chachchenta Prema was published in the Swati magazine in 2012.

Later, he planned to make it a movie with Samudrala as director, but it did not take off. He said the Srimanthudu team copied his story and the movie which became a blockbuster.

Mr Chandra filed a petition at the city civil court seeking action under the Copyright Act against Srimanthudu director, producers and Hrithik Roshan to stop its Hindi remake. The court issued notices asking them to reply by March 4.
