Five year-old drowns in water tank near a construction site in Thirumullaivoyal

Chennai: A five-year-old son of a migrant worker drowned in water tank near a construction site in Thirumullaivoyal on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Sankar, son of Krishna Nayak, a native of Odisha.

Nayak had come to Chennai with his wife and son a week ago and was staying at the construction site in Vivekananda Nagar. While Sankar’s mother was busy washing clothes, he slipped into a water tank.

Though the boy was taken out and rushed to the hospital, the medical team declared him dead on arrival.
