Nellore: Former legislator and YSR Congress leader Katamreddy Vishnuvardhan Reddy, along with former legislator Vonteru Venugopal Reddy, took out an impressive rally with his supporters from Allur to Konda Bitragunta in Kavali on Friday.
Though he is also an aspirant for the ticket, Vonteru Venugopal Reddy decided to back Katamreddy Vishnuvardhan and tried his best to persuade the party to give the ticket to Mr Reddy.
He has been urging the party to give Kavali ticket to him but Jagan had reportedly offered an MLC seat, provided he backs the candidature of sitting Kavali legislator Ramireddy Pratapkumar Reddy.
Vishnu organised the rally to showcase his strength in the segment to the YSRC and to take a decision whether to continue in YSRC or quit the party. Thousands of supporters walked along with Vishunvardhan Reddy from Allur to Konda Bitragunta, at 22 km distance. His wife Siva Priya and son Vikramadithya also accompanied the senior politician who was very close to Dr. YSR and his family.
During a public meeting held at Konda Bitragunta, supporters of Vishnuvardhan Reddy said that they are ready to back him whether he contests on a party ticket or as an Independent. Though some YSRC loyalists felt that the party will suffer if Vishnu enters the fray as an Independent, they said they too would back Vishnu.
