Kerala high court denies bail to third accused in murder case

The court, however, granted bail to Bilal Saji and Farooq Amani, listed as fourth and fifth accused in the case.

Kochi: The high court on Friday rejected the bail petition of Riyas Hussein, the third accused in the murder of Maharaja’s College student and SFI leader Abhimanyu.

The court, however, granted bail to Bilal Saji and Farooq Amani, listed as fourth and fifth accused in the case.

Rejecting the bail petition of Hussein, the high court observed that there was prima-facie evidence on the involvement of the accused in the crime.

He was also involved in the conspiracy to commit the offence, the prosecution pointed out.

The prosecution submitted that he was also involved in the attack on Rahul Krishna, a friend of Abhimanyu. The Ernakulam Central Police registered a case following the murder which took place on July 2 last year.
