Adilabad: Retired Prof replicates Veeraswamy's Kashi yatra
Adilabad: Dr M. Adinarayana, a retired professor from the Fine Arts department of Andhra University is on a pilgrimage on his bike from Chennai to Kashi.
He began his yatra a month ago. Mr Adinarayana is trying to replicate well-known travelogue writer Enugula Veeraswamy Kashi yatra which he had undertaken on foot in 1836 via Adilabad. Enroute to Maharashtra Adinarayana halted in Adilabad town on Friday.
Enugula Veeraswamy’s travelogue ‘Kashi Yatra’ is a famous book, which meticulously recorded during the pilgrimage to Kashi, the social, economic and religious conditions prevailing in the country then.
Adinaranaya said that so far he had travelled 14 countries covered 35,000 km in six continents. He further shared that he would soon release a book, simplifying the Veeraswamy’s ‘Kashi Yatra’ book. Adilabad AIR programme officer Sumanaspathi Reddy, writers Vasanth Rao Deshpande and B. Muralidhar and others received Adinayarana in Adilabad.
