AP: Dalit women must be educated, says Social Welfare Minister
GUNTUR: Minister for social welfare N. Ananda Babu asserted the need for good education to Dalit women for empowerment.
He was speaking at a meet on Dalit women empowerment held by the Ideal Dalit Women Association (IDWA) in Guntur on Thursday.
He said that B.R. Ambedkar was the first to raise his voice for the rights of Dalit women. He said that good education is a must to be successful in today's world and so the Dalit community should provide the best education to their girl children without fail and sought Dalit women to become self-reliant by turning as entrepreneurs and professionals. He said that TD founder late N.T. Rama Rao, for the first time, gave rights to women on property and assets and that CM N. Chandrababu Naidu is working for the development of women by giving priority to them in the government and in the party.
