Foam suddenly covered the culvert when the bus was midway at about 6 am on Wednesday.
The driver asked the passengers, some of whom were sleeping, to get down from the rear door.
Hyderabad: Fifty five passengers, including engineering students, had a narrow escape when their RTC bus nearly fell off the culvert at Edulabad on the way to Ghatkesar from the city.
Foam suddenly covered the culvert when the bus was midway at about 6 am on Wednesday. Driver K. Sampath Reddy lost sight of the road, and one of wheels of the bus came off the bridge.
The driver asked the passengers, some of whom were sleeping, to get down from the rear door. He held on to the brakes till the last passenger had exited. Locals said chemical manufacturers at Uppal and Boduppal were dumping waste which was causing the foam.
