Hyderabad: Child with burns denied care, says Majlis Bachao Tehreek
Hyderabad: The Majlis Bachao Tehreek said on Wednesday that Syed Omer Raza, 11, of Hashimabad, Bandla-guda who succumbed to 85 per cent burns after touching a low-hanging power cable, had been admitted to the Osmania General Hospital but timely treatment was not provided to the child.
Mr Amjadullah Khan, the spokesman of MBT, submitted a memorandum to the managing director, Southern Dis-com and sent a copy to Chief Minister K. Chan-drasekhar Rao.
Highlighting the issues being faced by the family, he said, “The child should have been shifted to a multispecialty hospital immediately.” He demanded compensation for the child’s family, and booking of a case of criminal negligence against Discom officials.
He said the government should resolve the issue of low-hanging power cables in Hashimabad. Mr Syed Ismail, brother of the victim, said “There were no proper medicines available at the hospital and we are made to roam around for getting the right medicines.”
