2,315 illegal hoardings removed so far: BBMP to Karnataka High Court

High Court granted BBMP a period of three months to complete the process of physically removing the iron structures.

Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Wednesday informed the High Court that it has removed 2,315 out of 2,439 illegal hoardings in the city and only 124 remain to be pulled down.

The Palike also said that with regard to removal of the iron structures, on which these hoardings were placed, they are in the process of inviting tenders and it may take some more time.

Following the submissions, the High Court granted BBMP a period of three months to complete the process of physically removing the iron structures.

The court has adjourned the case to Friday with directions to the palike to filed second status report along with necessary information, data, and also the list of defaulting assesses and advertisement tax payers in accordance with earlier court’s directions.
