22 from Tamil Nadu police selected for President's medal
Chennai: As many as 22 police personnel from Tamil Nadu were selected for President’s medal on the occasion of the Republic Day. Two officers - M. Karthikeyan, additional superintendent of police, PEW, Madurai and V Veerasamy, special sub-inspector of Police, Special Branch, Thanjavur have been awarded the President’s Police Medal for distinguished service.
Twenty officers have been awarded the Police Medal for meritorious service. Vijai Anand, Inspector TNUSRB, Egmore, Chennai, N. Premanandhan, Inspector, Podanur, Coimbatore city, R.Ragupathi, Inspector, DV&AC, Thoothukudi, M. Aruldhas, Inspector CBCID, MT, Chennai, M. Police officers are selected at all India level for this distinction and these medals are awarded twice a year on Republic Day and Independence Day.
These medals are given taking into account overall performance, achievement and reputation.
