Hyderabad: K. Ganga Reddy, Madhapur additional DCP, who was caught on camera assaulting a suspect and TS Umamaheshwar Rao, Jawaharnagar inspector, who misbehaved with a woman, will face disciplinary action from the department. Both of them were transferred from their present posts on Sunday.
Mr Sandeep Shandilya, Cyberabad police commissioner, took action on the ADCP Madhapur and transferred him. He is attached to the city armed reserve headquarters of Cyberabad.
Meanwhile, Mr Umamaheshwar Rao was transferred from the police station and was attached to the office of the DIG Hyderabad range. Mr V.V. Chalapathi will replace him. A purported video of Mr Ganga Reddy kicking and slapping Yogi, a short film director, who was booked for harassing a techie a few days ago, went viral on Saturday.
In the other incident, Umamaheshwar Rao was seen sitting in front of a woman with his legs on a cot. A video of the incident was doing rounds on social media. The inspector went to the woman’s house to inquire about her husband’s murder. The Rachakonda commissioner transferred him.
