Opposition backs Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi bandh call

Hyderabad: The Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) on Sunday gave a call for a state-wide bandh on December 27 to protest the illegal detention of its leader Manda Krishna Madiga. A round table meeting attended by various organisations and political parties extended support to the bandh.

Alampur Congress legislator S.A. Sampath Kumar demanded that the government immediately release Mr Manda Krishna Madiga from jail and also withdraw the cases against him.

TD former minister Motkupally Narasimhulu asked Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to clarify the TRS government’s stand on providing SC sub-categorisation and to state whether he would lead an all party delegation to the Centre to press the issue or not.

BJP leader Chintha Sambamurthy condemned the TRS government for arresting leaders those oppose it.
