Kalaburagi to get new Jayadeva Hospital
Kalaburagi: The Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, Bengaluru, will build a 350-bed hospital in the city to meet the needs of patients from the region, institute's Director Dr C.N. Manjunath said on Saturday.
After taking part in a seminar organised by the Hyderabad-Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry here, he said the hospital will come up at a cost of Rs 150 crore within two-and-a-half years. “It is needed because of the rise in demand from the patients here. We set up a 110-bed hospital in Kalaburagi in 2016, which is unable to cope with the demand. It has so far treated over 1.20 lakh outpatients. On an average, 350-400 outpatients visit us every day,” he said, adding they have already identified the place for the proposed hospital.
“About eight acres of land adjacent to the office of District Health Office will be used. Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge has assured us of getting the land allotted," he said.
Till the new building comes up, the facilities available at the ESIC Medical Complex here will be used.
