Hyderabad traffic police install posters in malls to create awareness
Hyderabad: To create awareness among the public about traffic rules, the Hyderabad traffic police have started a new initiative of installing traffic awareness boards at the entrance and lobbies of malls and other business establishments. In phase one, 50 boards were installed.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Commissioner of police, traffic, Anil Kumar said, “Our motto is to make Hyderabad an accident free and safe city. An important step to achieve our goal is to bring awareness among the public. We are happy that we are installing the traffic awareness boards in eight different malls and will soon put it up in more malls. As the footfall in the malls is heavy, we can create more awareness.”
“Few months ago, we started an initiative and created awareness camping in various schools and colleges to create awareness about traffic rules among children and youth,” Mr Kumar added.
“As part of the initiative, we created awareness amongst 1.4 lakh students and organised awareness camps at 549 school and colleges. Hyderabad traffic police want to bring about a change in the behaviour of people and make them follow traffic rules for their own safety,” Mr Kumar said.
