Dr G Parameshwar flooded with complaints

Residents of Thayappa Garden in Shanthi Nagar complained that over 80 houses in their area have still not been given title deeds.

Bengaluru: Garbage problem, unfinished skywalks, encroached storm water drains and vendors on TenderSure footpaths were among the top complaints that were fired at Deputy Chief Minister Dr G. Parameshwar at Jana Spandana, the people-interaction programme, organised by the BBMP for areas falling under the East zone on Saturday.

Citizens from Shivajinagar, Shanthi Nagar, Pulikeshinagar, C.V. Raman Nagar, Hebbal and Sarvagna Nagar complained that politicians make false promises, while officials fail to take action on their complaints.

Residents of Thayappa Garden in Shanthi Nagar complained that over 80 houses in their area have still not been given title deeds. Citizen-activists from Indiranagar said that their peaceful neighbourhood has turned into a noisy commercial hub as illegal business establishments have been given clearance by the authorities. Domlur residents complained that they have to live with an unbearable stench from a storm water drain that is filled with garbage and silt.

Though they have complained to officials repeatedly, no action has been taken yet, they said. Dr Parameshwar and Mayor Gangambike, who interacted with the citizens, directed the officials concerned to take immediate action on hundreds of complaints registered at the programme.
