Hyderabad: Director General (Signal & Telecom) of Railway Board Akhil Agarwal said that Indian Railway would introduce electronic microprocessor-based signalling system to replace the electrical signals that were installed 25 years ago. “The Indian Railway Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunication (Iriset) should take part in the microprocessor based electronic signaling system,” he said at the diamond jubilee celebrations of the institute.
He said Iriset should introduce contract management courses in order to avoid delay and investigation issues. SCR General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav said, “The railway system will be tuned to adopt, maintain and continuously upgrade the signal engineering technology in pace with the advancements all over the world. IRISET should come up with suitable online training modules.”
