Belagavi: A multi-crore effort sans tangible results because of large number of absentee legislators: That sums up the winter session of legislature which concluded here on Friday, costing the exchequer a whopping Rs 35 crore for 10 days!
The winter session, which commenced on an embarrassing note with the Assembly having to be adjourned for some time for lack of quorum on the first day on Nov. 13, mirrored lack of commitment by ministers and legislators. A large number of legislators either showed up briefly or not at all.
