Narendra Modi enquires about Jayalalithaa's health
CHENNAI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday got a briefing on the health status of Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, currently recuperating at the Apollo Hospitals here, from AIADMK MPs during an informal chat inside the Parliament House complex.
Soon after the Rajya Sabha was adjourned for lunch at 1 pm after a debate on demonetisation, Mr Modi walked up to the Opposition benches and was seen chatting with the MPs. When AIADMK MPs wished him, he reciprocated their greetings and enquired with them about the Chief Minister's health.
The MPs briefed him about the treatment being given to Ms Jayalalithaa and told him that doctors have said that she has "recovered completely" and is recuperating at the hospital. "We told him that Chief Minister Amma is fine and doing well. The Prime Minister wished Madam well and said she has the spirit of a warrior," a source said. Ms Jayalalithaa was admitted to Apollo Hospitals on September 22. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and BJP President Amit Shah had visited the hospitals to enquire about her health in October.
