Amit Shah to review passing-out parade at NPA tomorrow

Hyderabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will review the passing-out parade of the 75th batch of Indian Police Service (IPS) probationers at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) her on Friday. Shah will address the probationers after the march past.

A total of 175 officer trainees, including 155 IPS officer trainees and 20 foreign officer trainees will take part in the Dikshant Parade which marks the completion of 45 weeks of basic course at the academy. Among the 34 female officer trainees, two are foreign trainees while rest belongs to the 75 regular recruit of batch of the IPS.

The trainees joined the SVPNPA in December of last year after completing 15 weeks of foundation course at Lal Bahadur Shastri Academy of Administration in Mussoorie. After completion of training at SVPNPA, the trainees will proceed to Delhi to attend four weeks of attachments to Parliament, various CFOs, CAPFs and Army. After that, they will undergo 29 weeks of practical training with the respective cadre before returning to SVPNPA of nine weeks of phase-2 training of the basic course, including exposure to latest scientific aids in investigations, strategic leadership module at IIM-Ahmedabad, exposure to security arrangements for Ganesh immersion in Hyderabad, security arrangements for cricket matches in Hyderabad, to visit Command and Control Centre and Bharosa centre in Hyderabad.

Academy director Amit Garg said that in addition to the curriculum, special inputs were imparted in module format including module on crime against women and children, NDPS, Pocso, fire safety drill, VIP security module, cybercrime investigation, media management module, maritime security module, CPR, first responder module and special tactics module- explosives, jungle tactics and urban tactics.
