Karwar: Now, app to redress people’s problems
Karwar: People, who go to government offices, are often forced to run from pillar to post and wait for months to get their work done.
But Uttara Kannada has decided to put a stop to this. People in the district can now complain about their problems with the help of the 'U K Nagar,' mobile app, which will ensure that the officers concerned take care of them in a given time frame.
Inaugurated by Uttara Kannada district in-charge minister Shashikala Jolle on Thursday, the app available on playstore, will help people of 12 urban local bodies of Uttara Kannada get the official help they need without having to actually visit government offices.
All they need to do is register for the app with the help of an OTP by providing their name, mobile number and address and make the GPS- based live complaint by attaching photographs and videos to back it. The complaint will be forwarded to the section concerned, which will have to solve it within a stipulated time and upload photographs to prove that the issue has been resolved.
The complainant will be able to see the status of the complaint and its closure.
“The specialty of the app is that if the department concerned does not attend to the complaint within the time given it will be forwarded to the commissioner/ chief officer of the ULB. If the problem is still not resolved, it will come to me and I will take the necessary action,” deputy commissioner, Dr Harish Kumar told Deccan Chronicle.
The app has the phone numbers of all the district departments and their officials and carries important announcements by the administration.
