SRINAGAR: Northern Army commander Lt. Gen. Ranbir Singh had a narrow escape when the helicopter he and his staff were flying in crash-landed in Jammu and Kashmir’s frontier district of Poonch on Thursday.

The Army commander was on a visit to forward areas along the Line of Control which has been witnessing skirmishes between the Indian and Pakistani troops for quite some time. Meanwhile, a woman was killed and two other civilians were injured in a ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops along the LoC in the Tangdhar sector.
