Bengaluru: Bomb hoax at I-T office on Queen’s road
E-mail was sent to the deputy commissioner\'s id at about 10.45 pm.
BENGALURU: Tension prevailed in the Income Tax department building on Queen's Road following a bomb threat which turned out to be a hoax. As many as 200 police personnel rushed to the spot Wednesday night after the threat message was received via e-mail.
According to Commercial Street police, the e-mail was sent to the deputy commissioner's id at about 10.45 pm following which the bomb disposal squad and a dog squad conducted a search of the building and confirmed the threat was a hoax. However, hundreds of Income Tax employees hesitated to enter their offices on Thursday and did so only after an assurance by police officers and seniors of the department. The authorities suspect the role of an insider in the incident.
