Bengaluru: Anil Kumar warns bike renting firms

App-based bike sharing companies are hereby warned not to park in public spaces obstructing pedestrian & vehicular movement.

BENGALURU: BBMP commissioner Mr Anil Kumar has warned the bike leasing companies to give clear directions to its users so that they do not park in public spaces. Such vehicles which do not fall in line will be towed away, he said in a tweet.

“App-based bike sharing companies are hereby warned not to park in public spaces obstructing pedestrian & vehicular movement. I thank Bangalore Traffic Police for towing away two vehicles parked irresponsibly on Inner Ring Road on Wednesday,” Mr Anil Kumar tweeted.

However, some of the Twitter users suggested that the last bike rider should be booked for parking irresponsibly and not the company. One of them said that BBMP which has failed completely in providing last mile connectivity is harassing the app-based bike riding companies instead of supporting them. Bounce, Vogo and Yulu are some of app-based bike riding companies.
