Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, M H Ambareesh to meet today
Bengaluru: The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFFC) will hold the all-important meeting on the recent #MeToo storm in Sandalwood, especially the allegations by actress Sruthi Hariharan against actor Arjun Sarja, on Thursday under the leadership of Ambareesh, a senior actor and president of the artists’ association.
The Central Reconciliation Committee (CRC) of the film body, along with heads of various other subordinate film associations, is scheduled to meet at 4 pm on Thursday.
After Sruthi accused Sarja of sexually harassing her, Sarja’s father-in-law Rajesh had approached the KFCC, complaining against the actress and others. At the same time, director Ravi Shrivatsa too had raised the issue at the Directors’ Association.
But Prashanth Sambargi, a close friend of Arjun Sarja, said that Sruthi is approaching through others for 'mediation’ and to close the issue before the film body takes it up. He said that unless the actress tenders an unconditional apology in public, releases it as a press statement and does it so in front of cameras addressing the media, the Arjun Sarja family will not agree for any ‘such mediation’.
