AgriGold victims stage stir, seek financial relief
Rajahmundry: Beleaguered AgriGold victims staged a protest at the Sub Collector’s office seeking the state government’s intervention to settle the issue and provide financial relief to them in an expeditious manner.
Several victims of AgriGold arrived at the Sub Collector’s office on Wednesday and staged a protest.
Addressing them, Rajahmundry Urban MLA Dr Akula Satyanarayana slammed the state government for failing to resolve the issue for long and causing hardships to the victims.
Referring to the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s assurance to solve the issue way back in 2015, he asked as to why the issue had remained unresolved for a long time and demanded the state government to auction all the assets of the firm and provide financial relief to the affected people.
Alleging a conspiracy to knock away the assets of AgriGold, the BJP legislator wondered as to how the total value of the assets of AgriGold was declining year-by-year, as it was initially estimated to be about Rs 16,000 crore in 2016 and later Rs 10,000 crore in 2017 and Rs 2,200 crore in 2018 while the assets of Telugu Desam leaders were increasing.
He alleged that corruption was rising in the state under the leadership of CM Naidu.
Later, a representation was submitted to the Sub Collector with a request to forward it to the state government for initiating necessary action.
