2 Telugus play a key role
Hyderabad: Two men of Telugu ancestry from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are shaking the foundations of the venerable Central Bureau of Investigation, the premier investigating agency in the country.
One is from Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh and the other is from Warangal district in Telangana. Sana Satish Babu, who grew from a small government employee to a big businessman in AP is mainly responsible for the present crisis in the CBI.
The new director of the CBI, M Nageswara Rao, is from Warangal district in Telangana. His statement against the CBI’s special director, Rakesh Asthana, led to CBI director Alok Verma and Rakesh Asthana being told to go on leave. The statement given by Sana Satish Babu that Asthana has received money from him to drop one person from a case involving meat exporter Moin Qureshi, has become crucial evidence in the fight between the CBI top brass.
Sana Satish Babu used to be close to several political leaders in AP and TS. A senior Congress leader from AP claimed that Sana Satish was his “shishya” (pupil) and said that he knows him from when he was a lowly employee in the electricity department.
He said that Satish Babu shifted to Hyderabad and was involved in the real estate business with another businessman, Nimmagadda Prasad. Satish Babu is also close to a farmer or former? minister who is now in the YSR Congress. Satish Babu was close to leaders in the Telugu Desam Party too.
