NTR’s name part of Telugu Jathi, says Balakrishna

ANANTAPUR: Film star and Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna has protested against YSRC government for renaming NTR University of Health Sciences after YSR.

In his tweet, the popular actor recalled that as chief minister of AP, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had changed name of international airport that had been named after N.T. Rama Rao.

“His son, after occupying the (CM’s) seat, has changed the name of Health University. NTR is not a name to change for institutions, it's a culture, backbone of Telugu Jathi,” Balakrishna underlined.

He went on to say that people of AP are ready to change YSRC government itself.

“Be careful, pancha boothas are there. Many leaders in the (current) government had political life with blessings of NTR and (are) leading lives like dogs with no faith and cheaper than dogs,” the Hindupur MLA tweeted further.

Incidentally, TD cadres in Hindupur have been protesting for past two days over the name change. Balakrishna has sought to raise the pitch of these protests through his tweet.
