Kochi: The online reservation site of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) currently has no booking facility for commuters who wish to board the inter-state buses from intermediate stops like Adoor or Chenganoor.
The same is forcing many regular commuters to opt for luxury private services or other modes despite the KSRTC buses in the sector running with vacant seats."I'm a regular traveller in the Adoor-Bengaluru sector. If I search a bus from Adoor to Bengaluru, the website shows none though there are at least three buses daily operating to the garden city through the route. I'll have to search buses in Kottarakkara- Bengaluru section if the services have to appear in the website," rued Jinu John, a software Engineer from Adoor working in Bengaluru.
Another difficulty faced by commuters is that there is no pick up or drop points included in the website for such inter-state buses."
Firstly, there are many who didn't know about the flaw and think there is no bus in the route. For people like us we'll give the boarding point as Kottarakkara and book the tickets. The mobile number of the crew will be send just an hour before the bus starts and we've to ring them up and request to halt at Adoor bypass so that we could board the bus," said Mr John.
The same comes even as there is a heavy rush of commuters in the sector from destinations like Adoor and Chenganoor.
