Telangana: Staff tries to save strike day's pay

The salaries for this month are being paid a week in advance due to Dasara on September 30.

Hyderabad: TS employees associations are making a last ditch effort to persuade the state government not to cut a day’s salary for participating in the strike against the Contributory Pension Scheme on September 1.

The government issued orders to treasuries department to cut the salary while crediting amount in their bank accounts on September 25.

The treasuries department inturn issued orders on September 13 directing department’s officials in all districts to follow these instructions and deduct one day’s salary.

The salaries for this month are being paid a week in advance due to Dasara on September 30.

TS employees leaders G. Devi Prasad, V. Srinivas Goud, who is also TRS MLA, TNGOs president Karem Ravinder Reddy requested Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to reconsider the decision on the salary cut.

The leaders met a few ministers in this regard and urged them to take up the issue with Mr Chandrasekhar and ensure the salary is paid in full.

They said Dasara is a major festival in Telangana state and cutting Dasara salary may dampen the festive spirit of employees.
