Telangana BJP seeks a judge to probe state’s power deals
Hyderabad: TS BJP president Dr K. Laxman on Saturday continued his attack on the power department, demanding an inquiry by a HC judge into power purchase agreements.
Earlier in the week, Dr Laxman had alleged that the government had purchased expensive electricity when cheaper alternatives were available. To this, TS Genco and Transco CMD D. Prabhakar Rao had challenged Dr Laxman to get a CBI investigation conducted into the power deals.
Picking up the thread, Dr Laxman said on Saturday that the power purchase scam should be probed by a sitting judge of the High Court.
“The irregularities that occurred in the power deals will definitely come out. KCR is silent because he knows the truth,” Dr Laxman said.
He said that he would prove that there were huge scandals in the electricity deals.
