Bengaluru: Allotment of Portfolios put on hold

Mr. Yediyurappa, who revealed that he was leaving for Delhi for the funeral, said that once he returned to Bengaluru on Sunday.

Bengaluru: With Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa leaving for Delhi on Sunday to attend the funeral of former Union finance minister, Arun Jaitley, who passed away on Saturday, the allocation of portfolios of the newly appointed ministers in the state has been put on hold.

Mr. Yediyurappa, who revealed that he was leaving for Delhi for the funeral, said that once he returned to Bengaluru on Sunday, he would send the list of portfolios to the Governor for his approval.

“The allocation of portfolios has been put on hold due to Mr Jaitley's demise. The list is ready, and only needs the approval of the Governor,” he explained.
Accompanying the Chief Minister to Delhi are his cabinet colleagues and BJP state president, Nalin Kumar Kateel.

Bharatiya Janata Party’s national organising secretary, B.L.Santhosh who was in Bengaluru, left for Delhi Saturday evening to attend the funeral.

Karnataka's BJP leaders had a special bond with Mr Jaitley as he was put in-charge of two assembly elections in the state by the party.
