Tamil Nadu CM, politicos extend Onam greetings
Chennai; Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, Leader of Opposition (LoP) MK Stalin and others extended Onam greetings to the people, on Friday.
In a statement, the Chief Minister conveyed his heartfelt wishes to the people who speak Malayalam. The CM also recalled that the State was sending relief materials in addition to the fiscal assistance of Rs 10 crore offered to the flood ravaged neighbouring state of Kerala.
"The government has continuously been sending relief materials like rice, milk powder, clothes, medicines and blankets. Even now, volunteers have been collecting such materials," he noted in the statement. "I pray for the peace and prosperity of the people of Kerala, more so that the flood-affected people quickly recover from their mental agony, and that normalcy returns soon."
Echoing a similar sentiment, Leader of Opposition MK Stalin extended his greetings to the Malayalam speaking people and also the neighbouring state. Exhorting the people of TN to stand by the flood-hit people, Stalin said, "We have to lend a helping hand to Kerala, where people in large numbers have been affected due to the recent heavy rains and floods."
PMK MP Anbumani Ramadoss said, "Even as heavy rains and floods have affected Onam festival, I hope that peace will prevail upon Kerala and I also convey my greetings to the people of Kerala."
